For the record, here's Microsoft Reponse with respect to "Error 114" and the Service Pack 1 for vfp8. - It is now scheduled for October !

Hi Cyrus,
I found a bug in our database that describes your error on the ROLLBACK command that you are getting. Since I haven't seen your code, it may very well be that the SKIP could be part of the problem also. After looking at the code in the database that reproduces the error, it seems that anything that moves the record pointer is causing the error. The SKIP, GO TOP, and GO BOTTOM commands all cause the error to occur. You can run the code below in VFP 8.0 and the error reproduces easily.
I looked at the status of this bug and it should be fixed in an upcoming service pack for Visual FoxPro 8.0. The service pack should be available sometime around October.
Look in your code and see if it is possible that the record pointer is getting moved. If so, then you can bet it is a problem in VFP 8.0, and getting the service pack with fix your issue. By the way, I will not decrement you for this issue since it is a bug.
Sincerely,
Grant Suddreth
