Hi Frede,

Thank you for the reply. Yes, I too found that when I set the object.LockScreen() method, it resulted in the form 'vapour trail'.

Is this normal behavour or is it a bug? If it is normal behavour one wonders what it is supposed to achieve! Although the Hackers Guide to VP7 issues some cavaets about using LockScreen(), it doesn't mention this one.

Do you know if object.LockScreen() could be the cause of my original problem with the focus to the active form moving back up the tree to the top level modal?

I am planning extensive testing tonight and hope that I don't get the problem anymore.

Regards...Rex

>>Thanks for the additional information which is very useful. I still cannot pinpoint the problem but tonight I was able to work out which scenario would cause the problem. I am still investigating.

>That sounds like a classic symptom of having a form.LockScreen set someplace.
