I suggested downloading along with a maximum period of use say one year – renewable of course! Service Packs will be an additional charge and you have to pay up front to pay for development of code to resolve bugs. If no Service Pack is issued during your one year “lease”, then you forfeit your investment. Should you elect to add an additional year of usage of the software you will have to pay for Service Pack inclusion up front.

I should work for the marketing department for software vendors. The above concepts are something I considered a few years ago. Interestingly, several companies are using some of the ideas and others are considering them. Remember we do not “own” the software we pay for. We are just “licensed” to use it. :)
