Thanks for your suggestions and time. You are correct, I am not using VFP 8, maybe I should... Anyway, the other problems you cited are also exactly correct as well, a) the same amount of space is reserved and the invoices look weird when there is only 1 item or maybe 2 and
b) I do have a field ( memo used for description of item ) that must stretch as needed. So I am faced with a couple of nasty alternatives. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have tried Greg's suggestion, but now I encounter the following error after the 1st page of the invoice "String is too long to fit". Maybe you can think of a way around this.
