From the VFP 8 installation disk, I'm trying to install MSDE 2000 on my Windows XP machine and receive the following error message:
The instance name specified is invalid

I then tried to run the setup using d:\sqlmsde\setup.exe instancename="xxx" from the RUN input screen and receive the following message:
A strong SA password is required for security reasons. Please use SAPWD switch to supply the same.

I then tried to run the setup using d:\sqlmsde\setup.exe instancename="xxx" | SAPWD="password from the RUN input screen and receive the following message:
Invalid command line parameters.

What am I doing wrong?

This seems harder than necessary. Seems like the setup screen should prompt you for these switches.
