Well since the max time another user could have the table shared is only about 1 or 2 seconds, I put in a counter to try about 20 times, if not the loop cuts out and continues. It all works good if I hit cancel when the open dialog box opens. No, that is the only table it is trying to open. It could be that the loop is trying to open the table again while it is trying to popup the "in use" type error command. I could take out the twenty tries and try it once. With twenty tries, if I hit ignore, I only get the open dialog twice. I would think that if i cut out the error checking that I would not have to put a delay in before I try to grab it again. I was curious if anyone else had experienced this same type of thing and found a good solution on approaching it.
