Thanks, Al, and yes, I put in the express service tag (just like I would for my inspiron) and got sent to exactly the same downloads page referred to in my messages with Sergey.
I have cookies enabled. I used the Dell site to get drivers etc for one of my three inspirons. i have an account at Dell.
I'm going to try again today to get through to tech support on the phone. Emailed Wednesday and so far no response. Have a feeling the desktop side of Dell is not as efficient as the notebook side, where I have had nothing but 1st class experience with all forms of tech support, web searching etc.
>If the Dell still has an express service tag, you should be able to use that to zero in quickly on the drivers and downloads for that unit.

- Thomas Hardy
Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.
-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin
Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
