I am using the _cryptapi from the _crypt.vcx that comes with VFP 7.

I am using the "EncryptSessionBlockString" function.

I have the cProviderName = "Microsoft Base Cryptographic Provider v1.0" so that the encryption and decryption will work the same on all versions of Windows (those that I have to support at least anyway.)

On Windows 98/NT4/2000 and 2003 it works fine.

On Windows XP it causes Windows API error 87 (I.e. GetLastError returns 87.) about once every 10 or 15 times it is called. It can happen the first time you call it and then not again until you have called it 10 times.

Does anybody know if this is a known issue in this class or is there an updated version available? (I did try the version that came with VFP8 but that appears to be exactly the same as the VFP7 one.)


Reproduce the problem with this http://www.aws.com.au/foxfiles/crypttest.zip just type something in the first textbox and then keep clicking the "Encrypt" button. If you are using Windows XP you should eventually get the error.
