as well as the suggestions from hilmar and craig you might try these.
check that both wireless nodes transmitting on the same channel? also are all the wireless settings the same? if you have a peer to peer, ie not through a routed/hub then the settings are different, forget the exact setting, but it sould be available on a dropdown.

Hi. I did a simple 2-pc wireless network. A desktop and a notebook, both XP Home. What could be some possible reasons that the two pc's cannot see each other's resources?
