>Client/server computing has been dubbed 'computing of the future' like windows NT is said to be the OS of the now/future. Can I hear from somebody currently using both technologies in providing enterprisewide solution?
We are currently doing just that here (at my day job). I don't know all that much about the NT side, but I am currently the DBA for a SQL Server system which uses Visual Foxpro for data entry. In addition to this, we are integrating a data entry/output system via fax, WWW, and email, all running on NT servers. Also, we get data from a DB2 system in Georgia. Basically, we are attempting to integrate with all kinds of sytems, and it is actually working! (s)
If you are interested in Client-Server methods, I am currently working on an article for the next Virtual FoxPro User Group newsletter that discusses (in particular) developing a C/S system using Visual FoxPro and MS SQL Server.
HTH,
Scot.
