I've got exactly the same issue.

Have mailed Dennis directly to see if he managed to resolve
but meanwhile anyone got any thoughts?

Our client uses an IBM scheduling application called Maestro
which doesn't have a visual dimension. When we try to automate
printing in Excel it hangs when it attempts to throw the print
dialogue.
