But foxpro does not seem to want to write a coverage file from a compiled exe. It works fine if i build an app. I am including debug info in the project and not encrypting.

I don't believe that the coverage profiler application is redistributable (it's not listed in redist.txt).

If it is, however, you'd have to supply it with your application and set the _COVERAGE system variable appropriately.
