Frankly that's a much better call than trying to deal with remote access of COM objects. This was never really a reliable mechanism to get at remote servers due to the complexity of configuration and instability of the interface in the face of flaky network connections and DCOMs inability to maintain connections indefinitely (DCOM connections release after a certain timeout period).
