I need to temporarily (until 5.x-based app is ready) give access to FPD2.6 tables using VFP3.0 so my Win3.1 users can access the tables. When I build the form, I can only add 6 free tables. The 7th free table generates an error "too many files open". I tried increasing the FILES=100 in CONFIG.SYS but it doesn't help (maybe because I'm running Win95?). I remember a similar situation before and don't remember having this kind of problem.

Also, what is the best way to access 2.6 tables from VFP3 or 5 if you need to?
