i have an older c class latitude, black not the new silver cover, and it is great, if you could pick up one second hand you might get a good deal, also a lot of people will have docking stations, expansion slot gadgets etc that will not fit into the new d class so you may be able to get a few of those. my friend has a d class and it has given him a bot of trouble with the screen especially if he plays dvd etc and he got a 64mb vid card so am not too sure what the problem is. on the other hand another friend is a big buyer of these laptops, about 15 a month for his company, and has very few problems with them.

Hi Everybody,

I want to buy a notebook, but I have no experience in notebooks. Good brands like Compaq, DELL, and Toshiba are expensive. On the other hand, no name notebooks have higher configurations (I can even choose whatever I want on them as well), and they are really cheap. What is your idea about brand?

Since this is my first time, I really appreciate any thoughts and recommendations that you might have.
