The cynic (yep, that's me) might conclude that President Bush got interested in hydrogen power because GM needed him to.
By the way, I'm all FOR hydrogen power and can't wait for the day. It's being tested right now in Iceland, the intention being a country-wide implementation to learn how to implement it elsewhere.
Finally, to clarify one small thing... it is not some magical patentable (though I'm sure someone will try) "conversion process" that produces water as the end result of hydrogen 'combustion'. Water is what will be produced by such action everywhere, all the time.
