Hmmm, that is odd. Go to the ODBC Administrator, click the Drivers tab and compare the exact driver versions. The only thing I can think of at this point is that you are updating a VARCHAR2 column with a character string that has not been RTRIMmed of excess spaces that make the string exceed the width of the VARCHAR2 column.
