I stand corrected. Fred's method works just as well if there isn't anything open with the alias "myalias". And to top it all off Fred's method doesn't even change the currently selected table if the currently selected table is different from "myalias" in use in select("myalias")

I guess my $0.02 worth wasn't even worth the electrons used to display it :)
