Hello all...

It seems that Visual Foxpro ODBC driver can't handle a directory with many dbf files (mine has 217. Don't ask why). I mean it still can work with tables in it but the problem is when driver's *list* function is called - it crashes. And have you tried to work in Windows applications? They all look the same:
Select connection type - ODBC,
Select ODBC data source - My data source,
*Select table* - oops too many, will crash now...

Once you past this so called "design" time problem it works fine. So what I do, i have another directory where i copy files i really need, then i set ODBC data source to look into it, then I go to Access, or Crystal, or whatever and do the "design" part. After its done i switch the datasource to look back into the real place.
The problem is it works for me, but our sales people are having trouble explaining it to clients. Plus they try to demonstrate ODBC compliance of our app by going to Excel... and yes, the driver crashes, so no ODBC compliance...
Anyway.. Has anybody experienced that problem? If it's "too many files", how many is too many? Can I do something to the driver?
The driver version is 6.1...., the latest (only 2 or something years old).

Also does anybody know what are the requirements for OLE DB driver? Which versions of MS Office can use it? And where is the place i can use it in Access 2002? It seems to only think of OLE DB as a way to connect to SQL Server and wouldn't let me choose anything else.
I really have a bad week, can't you tell? And it's only Tuesday ....
