I've been messing around with a shopping cart app using Postgres. On each row of the products table, I have one text filed to hold a short description of the item, one text field to hold a detailed description of the item, and one text field to hold what will become the body of an email message at the time a customer purchased the product. I also have two text field which can hold links to pictures of the item.

I wanted to use html in the shot and long descriptions and the email text fields, but postgres complained about the html tag and would not allow them to be inserted into the table. I was thinking maybe MSSQL would handle this. The front end application is perl. I considered creating some kind of speical set of characters that perl could then phrase into html when the field was selected for displayed, but decided that would be far to involved.
