Last time I was in Buenos Aires, I noticed there was a custom of men greeting other men with kisses. Logically, this is no stranger than women kissing women, but I was simply not accustomed to this sight <g>.
(In Bolivia, we see men and women kissing (I am still talking about a simple greeting), and kisses between women, but
not kisses between men.)
Since I distrust any differences established between men and women as "possible discrimination", I must somehow admire this, despite the fact that I am simply not accustomed to this habit.
But anyway, I was just wondering: is this a recent change in habits, in Buenos Aires (or in Argentina)?
Difference in opinions hath cost many millions of lives: for instance, whether flesh be bread, or bread be flesh; whether whistling be a vice or a virtue; whether it be better to kiss a post, or throw it into the fire... (from Gulliver's Travels)
