I'm writing a submodule to monitor the connection to sql server in a preset timing.
As i reduce the sql connection timeout to 1 second, i can quickly know whether the sql server is online or offline. However, if i pull out the LAN cable, the program will takes forever to return.

I guess the LAN connection timeout is set too long. Is there a way to reduce it?
