>Remember when we went to odd/even (license plates) days? You could only buy gas on a day defined by the last digit of your license plate. We lived in San Francisco at the time and took a vacation to San Diego. All was well and we left on the appropiate day to allow us to buy gasoline. We got to Los Angeles (Valencia) and bought gas, and then on to San Diego, where we bought gas.
I'd forgotten all about that odd/even mess. I had a slightly "shady" drinking-buddy back then who would switch license plates so he didn't need to worry on any given day, except to find out whether it was an odd or even day...he'd just get out different plates and a screwdriver...
I guess that's a nicer way to cheat than cutting in line, anyway.
