Say, for instance, that Dmitry is registered for auto-update alerts. Does this mean he'll no longer get them?

I wonder if "administrators" are people or other internal services???

I have a problem turning something OFF when I don't know the effects/side-effects. In this case Dmitry's system continued to run, but maybe he just doesn't know what he's missing yet.
