Look at this first page of a manual about Petwhere from the ASPCA

MicroSoft®'s solutions have fixed many of the above problems. Microsoft® has a "resource kit" on FoxPro® for Windows at http://support.microsoft.com/support/downloads/dp867.asp. Chapter 2 (CHAPT2.DOC) contains a detailed troubleshooting section. (After downloading it, run the program, and use Word to view the document. You can download MicroSoft®'s Word Viewer from http://www.microsoft.com/office/000/viewers.htm if you don't have Word.

The troubleshooting section suggests many solutions, such as reducing "Graphics Acceleration" (Start - Settings - Control panel - System - Performance - Graphics) to NONE to solve some weird screen anomalies, and adjusting other system settings to prevent 'internal consistency errors'. The above referenced document (also in CHAPT2.DOC) also contains a list of known problem Graphics cards. (NOTE: this list has not been updated in some time; so similar cards -- such as the ATI Mach series -- may also cause problems).

Another common problem we hear about is the "divide by zero" error that can occur when attempting to launch or install PetWhere®. Some Pentium Class computers FASTER than 150 mhz have been known to cause such problems. MicroSoft®'s Knowledge Base Article "Insufficient Memory in FoxPro® for Windows" says the error only happens during specific actions. However, it's generally known in the FoxPro® community that computers faster than 150mhz can cause overall problems. Microsoft discusses the problem in their Knowledge Base and provides a patch file that is designed to fix the "divide by zero" error on fast computers.

Please Note: this patch file does NOT need to be installed to Build 53 and higher as the files included in PetWhere® have already been "patched" to run on faster computers.

Remember a few things when troubleshooting. Some "identical" computers may have a particular problem, while others don't. The same error message on "identical" machines may or may not be solved with the same solution. Be aware that every computer is unique - each may require a different strategy for troubleshooting the problem(s).

If you are not successful in solving your problems, be sure to contact us!
