Elmer,
The virus is faking the headers with email addresses it is finding in the infected computer's addressbook. My machine is clean and I've gotten maybe 30 bounced/infected return emails in the last few days.
>I thought I was unaffected since I have up to date virus protection and all Windows updates are up to date and I had not received any of the emails with a .pif, .spr or .exe attachment. Today however, I started getting email "returned" to me, supposedly sent from my email address. The address in the "FROM" line is the one that I have listed at UT but is never used for sending email. That address happens to be one that I have had for several years but all mail to that address is forwarded to my real address. That address is also the one where all spam mail comes into my inbox. I downloaded the stinger.exe from McAfee and checked my computer and it came up clean, but I have received 20 or so today that were returned as rejected by receiving server for having SoBig Virus and the TO: addresses I recognize as addresses from UT. So somewhere it has picked up addresses that are related to this forum.
