Sounds nice isn't it? "Remote views to local tables" :-).

I don't know if this help somehow to avoid table corruption. Maybe the ODBC/OLE DB driver keeps itself the table open as long as the client connection for speed reasons?
The one thing I do know is that you can have an extra super server, and a single workstation is enough to corrupt tables/indexes.
