Is there a way in SQL Server to build a persistent table alias? For example, if I have a table called TBL1 in a database on another server, can I create a placeholder for that table in my local database? So that I can query TBL1 in my local data and it will automatically pull data from the other SQL Server? If something like this is possible it would save me some coding and keep our existing data access more simplistic...
