8.5 is not unusual these days. I have one non-vfp EXE that is about 18MBs, a photo editing app.

But 8.5 is very big for a "small" vfp app, though. I have what I would call a "rather large" EXE, and it's less than 5MBs (but with reports and some images removed). But it has over 100 forms and large classes, not to mention pageframes/pages, probably 200 or so pages, and maybe around 150 grids. But even if I add in everything which I excluded, it's still only about 7-8MBs.

If your app has less objects than mine and is still at 8.5MBs...something seems odd. How about data? You can exclude that too, usually, if you need to.

I think if I was you, I would get out of vfp, go into My Computer, and sum up all the components in your app's folders that you include in your PRJ. See if that file-sum is roughly the same amount as your EXE size. That will also help you to see what's taking up so much space.

Maybe you also need to pack your VCXs, another thought...they can get bloated, like memo files.
