Cyrus,
I can only echo what I said before, don't use aliases in reports.
Whenever I create a report, I always SELECT into a sinle flat cursor using JOINs to get all of the related tables into the result. When the fields are put onto the report I usually use the quick report feature without adding the cursor to the DE and without adding aliases. I drag the fields around, creating group bands as necessary and the report just plain works right from the start.
If I have a lot of static header data I'll push it into a private object properties, or an array, and use those properties in the report fields.
>1) Well, I am using table aliases all over the report, but not the alias of the cVTN table that is actually controling the report.
