I have a similar problem. However it only effects my distant machines all running XP Professional on a Novell 5.1 network connected by a T-1. The local machines all work well on the Novell Network.

THe connection with the FoxPro database works fine in both the distant and local network, the problem seems to lie in saving Word or Excel files from the distant location. Not only is the connection lost, but the workstations lock up. I have 16 identical workstations at this location, and the problem is only on 4 of them.

So if anyone has a solution, let me know. All updates have been installed, including the XP Office ones.
