>>I need to temporarily (until 5.x-based app is ready) give access to FPD2.6 tables using VFP3.0 so my Win3.1 users can access the tables. When I build the form, I can only add 6 free tables. The 7th free table generates an error "too many files open". I tried increasing the FILES=100 in CONFIG.SYS but it doesn't help (maybe because I'm running Win95?). I remember a similar situation before and don't remember having this kind of problem.

Tony,
I do use a DBC and I did create a local view against my 2.x tables. Funny thing happened though. I had no problem creating the LV on my 2.x tables but when I add it to the form dataenviroment and run the form, the Open dialogue box opens up asking where the 2.x tables that are in the LV are!? Also, when I go back to edit the LV, no info is saved! Pretty weird. Since 2.x tables are stored on the file server and not on my local HD, can this be the problem???
BTW, I'm using 5.0a with SP3 from VS SP3. I know it can't be this difficult.
Thanks.
John.
It's "my" world. You're just living in it.
