Hi

First of all, I have no experience at all using barcodes,
but probably this is a good opportunity to implement it (I have understood is not a big deal to use them).

Heres is the scenario:

The user(s) will fill a database by typing the information, which is gonna be read from a list. In order to make the process faster I want put the barcode in the list, so that user don't have to move between the rows of the grid and be sure he is putting the new values in the right record without the need to look at monitor. So far, it seems this could help the user, but I'm not really sure about it.
For instance, I'm very worried about the period between the device reads the code and the moment the user starts typing the data, as I think the progrma won't be able to go to the record in such a short time, etc. So, I'd like to know about whether is a good idea to use barcodes in this case or maybe you could suggest me some thing to improve my idea or tell me about your experiences.

Anyway, in case this is a good idea, could you describe for me in simple words how to implement the barcodes and how the systems works, I mean, the events I'll have to look, etc.

TIA
