It is definitely a talent to be able to make a screen "sizzle" or just be very appealing and easy to understand to a user. One thing I have learned to do is borrow ideas from other applications user interfaces. for example, I noticed in Yahoo messenger there is a form that that needs to display a number of different pages. As we all know too many pages on a pageframe can clutter things up. In this case, yahoo messenger has a listbox on the left of the form containing the title for the pages and the user selects the title and it is displayed to the right of the list box. Very clean and clear to the user. I'm not all too graphically oriented by I try to borrow good interface techniques when I find them. I just wish Microsoft would stop changing their interfaces with every new OS.
