If the ControlSource involves a variable-sized expression (like a memo field), use padr() to keep it to a fixed size.
I found (in VFP3) that a UDF with exactly 1 or 2 parameters caused troubles. Por nada más, I had to introduce additional (otherwise unneeded) parameters.
