A couple of months late, I just got back to this issue. :)

the routine you sent me (the ZipRead), worked out pretty well. After I've finally figured out some other routines that I've needed for something here, I just realized that I can't use ZipRead if the file is marked as ReadOnly (and in my situation I just can't change that status), since the routine makes use of low-level functions.

Do you have any idea how I could work around this?
