It certainly happens enough to warrant consideration that video adapters or their drivers cause random and suprious GPFs in VFP.

Can they look into which machine work OK and which have problems and compare video adapters/video drivers and video settings of each group to look for commonality?

Also, does his happen right away, or on some specific thing being done? I've had weird things (mot VFP mind you) when an UNavailable networked printer was set as Windows DEFAULT printer.

good luck

>I am having a unique situation that has never happened anywhere else in the world <grin>. Our VFP 6.0 compiled software works fine on most machines, but every now and then, we get fatal errors, or the software just doesn't work right. However, 100% of the time, I can go to the client's own Windows 2000 machine that we connect to via pcAnywhere and the software we designed will work every time. Or, when I ask the client to close down all programs, reboot and bring up only the VFP app, then the software will work just fine.

>In past companies, I have tested software at S. C. Edison and elsewhere and know that some programs mis-behave and cause problems and conflicts with other programs; one of those programs was the Eudora email client. Well, lo and behold, our client is using Eudora all over the place. Problems that they didn't used to have are now occurring. On the Windows 2000 machine to which I connect, no other programs are ever open, besides what I test in VFP.

>Has anyone else had these types of unexplainable problems. Right now, my client is very upset and wants OUR software fixed. But when I test the software, I cannto reporduce the errors they sayt hey are getting, such as fatal error, etc. There are some people to whom you can explain nothing. Were I able, I would go to their site and analyze what software they have and see if I can discover some common thread.
