A headline in today's main page is titled "Password Rage" and says that people are frustrated by the large number of varying passwords that are necessary today.

I can see that a gadgetaholic might have such trouble, but I'm interested in if this truly is affecting the average Joe/Josephine. My working theory is that this is another one of those planted "stories" aimed at preparing us (i.e. the masses) for some new product or a bigger push by MS to get PassPort (or some such) used more widely.
