Start by creating a BMP or JPG of the image you want on the report. The image needs to already have the item in question diagonally across the picture.

Next, place the item on the report in the page header. Mark it as "Scale Picture, Fill Frame". Just make it a tiny little picture for now and also use the "Send to Back" option on it.

The real trick to this solution is now you have to hack the FRX. Open the report as a table and change the VPOS, HPOS, HEIGHT and WIDTH fields to make the image stretch across the whole page.

The picture will have an OBJTYPE of 17 and the UOM for these fields is 1/10,000 of an inch.
