No replies to this, but I've at least come across something. I recently purchased a copy of SQL 2000 Developer Edition, and BOL for this version actually has these system procs documented (unlike SQL 7). To quickly see all of the system procs, you can search on sp_* with "search titles only" checked.

For 50 bucks SQL 2000 Developer Edition is quite a deal for numerous reasons beyond this.
