Bob, I tried using the Application Role in SQL and having problem. I got the role setup and everything works when I do it in Query Analyzer. However, when I put the call into my application, I got "General network error" on calls to SQL after turning on the application role. If I remove the call to SP_SETAPPROLE, I get the NO PERMISSION error like I suppose to. There was no error on the call to SP_SETAPPROLE but any SQL call after that generate a "General Network Error". Any idea?
Moreover, when I look at the SQL server when my application is running, I saw 2 connections from my application. Is this normal? Shouldn't MM.NET manager the connection and use only one? Does this have anything to do with General Network Error?
