So are you saying that unrelated to the Report Writer, when you try to do an APPEND GENERAL directly from the command window with the BMP file it fails with the OLE Error?

If this is the case, you need to associate the file extension of BMP with Paint or some other drawing software so the APPEND GENERAL knows how to handle that type of file.

Once you can get it working from the command window, it should work just fine from within the report writer.
