Hi,

When Red Hat Linux 9.0 is booted, it places alot of information in the /var/logs/messages file. You can open this file with your editor of choice to see what partitions Linux found and how they are labeled. You can use the dmesg command to obtain this information on the most current boot. I like to use dmesg to place the output in a file name outputfile that can be viewed with my editor.

dmesg > outputfile
vi outputfile
