Hi Jim,

Thanks for the information. I really can't see any technical issue that would prevent VFP 8 from operating on the home edition, which is what puzzled me about the listed system requirements. The XP-Pro edition certainly offers more flexibility as far as being able to remotely access a client's computer, but this isn't a VFP issue.

>>Hi,
>>
>>I've noticed that most distrubitors list Windows XP Professional edition as the required operating system for running VFP 8.0. I'm planning on buying a new computer and VFP 8.0. However, most systems come with Windows XP Home edition, especially the systems with the best price deals.
>>
>>My question is this: Will I be able to use VFP 8.0 on the home edition of XP, or is it necessary that I have the professional edition of XP to run it properly? I'm not sure what difference it would make. Are there certain features of VFP 8.0 which require the professional edition of XP?
>>
>>One other question: Does VFP 8.0 have an upgrade path from VFP 6.0 or only from 7.0?
>>
>>Thanks for any advice.
