Hard to achieve this. The DBF format is well known and you can find a lot of utilities that can read/write DBF tables. For better security I recommand you a client-servet database, if is very important.

Encryption utilities like Cryptor (from XiTech, Refox creators) can help.

I'm working on a proposal that needs some tight security but I as a developer do not want to be forever inserting a password or some such thing every time VFP wants to open the database.
