I see what you mean. That means relying on Excel for ALL reporting needs (passing through ASCII just in case of fast printing). My application right now supports sending to Excel (with formatted results) any grid through automation, but I did base reports on the native report writer. I should now write the Excel formatting code for every report, but I have to consider first whether I want to leave out people without Excel (which I think is not a very polite move).
