I need to create a validator control that ensures a date value is entered into a required field. My requirements do not allow me to post back so the validation must be client side. I must present the error message to the user in a single spot. I am not allowed to use the Validation Summary control because the PM does not like it. So basically I need to combine the required field validator functionality with the compare validator functionality.

How do I do this?


Ps.. I tried a custom validator but it does not fire if the required field is left empty.
