I use Virtual PC. You can even have the your Linux PC communicating with your Windows PC, like they're separate systems, even though they're both on the same box (at the same time!)

>I use removable drive trays to run WinXP/Red Hat 9. I've messed with dual boots before, but you are right, it ain't worth the grief.

>>A friend of mine wanted to try out Linux so he said he would load it on his windows machine. I suggested he get two removable hard disk trays (about $15 each) and buy another hard disk. Why risk loosing everything on your original hard disk? Well, to make a long story short he did not listen to me. So he lost everything – no big deal except he was in business for himself and lost all client and customer invoices, addresses, etc. When he got through nothing worked on his computer.

>>>The TIOBE Programming Community Index for September 2003 shows the World's Most Popular Programming Languages based upon a formula/algorithm that they use to search the Google search engine and calculate a rating. I can't tell you how scientific the results are, but here are the results for September 2003 from their web page:

>>>To see the whole list and how the ratings are gotten go to the web site:

>>>
>>>This information could help me identify which programming languages to brush up on. I studied the programming language needs for local job openings in the Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater, FL area, but it is a very confusing assortment of multiple programming languages with no clear decisive favorite other than C++.
>>>
>>>I have the books, "Learn Java in 21 Days" and "Learn Perl in 21 Days" here in my office, but no Unix/Linux machine.
>>>
>>>I also have the complete Symantec C++ software package and the complete Microsoft Visual Basic software package here in my office. I guess I should grab them, dust them off and get hoppin'!
>>>
>>>See you all later.
