A pleasant day... hope you can help me with this problem...

Our end users treat information derived from grids differently, for example:
the original position of my grid would be -

Item Code, Item Description, Quantity, Unit Cost, Amount, Discount1, Discount2, Discount3, Item Class

But the user would like it to be positioned to -

Quantity, Item Code, Item Description, Item Class, Unit cost, Discounts, Amount

Is there anyway that this column change can be made permanently through programming and storing the position changes made during program execution, and when the next time they open the said application, they would not need to change the updated positions of the columns they have set?

To make the problem a little more complicated, can each individual users' preference be saved as well?
