While trying to create a generic datasession subclass with some code I found that the kind of datasession class that VFP permits is not geared towards that, but towards creating what I believe is a "business object" kind of data session which is to be used as is, and not subclassed further.

Did I get that correcly? I ended up creating a method in my form class and adding a call to it in each form's dataenvironment's BeforeOpenTable method. Not a big inconvenience, except when I forget to do it.
